KHEA Hub and the KCOA Project

The KHEA Hub is one of five regional hubs implementing the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA) Project in Africa. The project is part of the One World – No Hunger initiative by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), executed through GIZ, supporting a network of knowledge hubs for organic farming across Eastern, Western, Northern, Central, and Southern Africa. Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) is the Lead Coordinating Agency of the project in Eastern Africa, with Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Uganda serving as Co-Host of the KCOA-KHEA Project.

Phase I & II: August 2019 – January 2025
Phase III: August 2025 – September 2026

The project aligns with the Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative (EOA-I), an African Union-led continental program under the oversight of the African Union Commission (AUC) Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (DARBE).
